Science continues to provide us more and more answers to questions the advertising industry been struggling with for years. Brand new, ground-breaking research out of the Neuroscience Department at UCL is about to revolutionise our understanding of consumers’ reactions to advertising.
Existing research techniques can only tell us so much. Online questionnaires, emoji clicking and focus groups are, unfortunately, hugely flawed. An industry consumed by the Attention Economy will only learn so much, one that understands the Engagement Economy will know considerably more.
The Neuro Narrative Lab is a brand new research business launched by UCL neuroscientists Professors Joe Devlin and Daniel Richardson. Using ground-breaking wearable technology is provides advertisers with unparalleled insight into how consumers genuinely engage with their ad, allowing brands to better understand the effectiveness of different copy edits on different audience groups and across different platforms.
In short, we now know what people are thinking, not just what they’re looking at. And we think it’s a game-changer.
We have already started testing our technology (with amazing results) with a few industry organisations but are about to do a full-scale launch in October. And we are inviting interested parties to join us so whether you are a client, creative agency, media agency, social media agency, media owner or brand marketing business we want you to see the results for yourselves on your own campaigns.

Data collection and analysis
We will run show your advertisements, in a realistic context, to a set of 60 participants while we track their electrodermal activity to track their engagement levels and measure behavioural responses.

Private presentation of results and learnings at your office, from 11.11.24 onwards.
As part of this launch initiative, we are offering this to the industry at the substantially discounted cost of £500 per video
You can supply up to six ads of any length and from any category, we will provide you with feedback on things like memorability, brand favourability and narrative engagement. You can test your copy against your own different edits or even competitors’ ads.
